Voluntary benefits, a no brainer for any company

 

When people tend to think of employee benefits, they tend to think of high dollar amounts and healthcare. That isn’t always the case though, voluntary benefits can be used to positively impact an employee’s life at a relatively low cost. Benefits like disability, hospital indemnity and long-term care can all make a huge difference in someone’s life and come at no cost to the employer.

Voluntary benefits are often offered on an employer based; employee paid basis. This means that it comes at no cost to the employer and gives employees an option to be covered only in the areas they wish to be. Not only is it protecting your employees, but it makes you a more desirable employer as well. With the competitive job market there is today, voluntary benefits are a must for every employer.

Many companies already offers voluntary benefits, but with them becoming more common it may be worth a look and making sure yours are still competitive. New products appear everyday, and having an out of date voluntary benefits selection may make you less attractive to potential employees. With employers focus when it comes to benefit often on medical insurance, don’t forget to make sure your voluntary benefits are up to par as well.
