Could a Three Day Weekend Result in Getting More Work Done?

As we wind down the work week and are all looking forward to our days off, do you ever wish you had a third day to add to the weekend? The idea is often tossed around by employees, but could it be effectively put into place? Motivation of employees could be the key part of having a four day week be efficient.

If a company were to implement a shorter work week right now and firmly stick to it, it may not work perfectly. Having less time to communicate deals during the week could be seen as a negative, along with other parts of the week that could already be affected by time constraints. Even with the negatives, there is a upside that presents itself with the shortened work week. Having fresh, focused employees who would be more appreciative of their employers thanks to the time off would make their hours working more productive. Not only will employees be more productive but having a four day mandatory work week will attract a lot of potential employees and make you stand out from your competitors.

Just like a great employee benefits plan, requiring less work hours a week is something that makes your company more attractive than others. A fifth day may be required once and a while, but a generally shorter week could be very beneficial. But for now, everyone enjoy your weekend!
