I could hear the panic in the voice of my client when they called. A cyber criminal hacked into their systems and stole all their data, including their backups. The criminals asked for a ransom of $150,000 or the data would be destroyed.  They did have a robust cyber insurance policy and the experts were able to  “beat” the criminals and restore the data.  However the cost of those “ experts” was substantial and the insurance paid for it all.
